McEwan Hall
University of Edinburgh
We were engaged by the University of Edinburgh to restore over forty intricately leaded windows within the universities spectacular A listed McEwan Hall. The project included the unveiling of a long-hidden window sitting above the grand organ. The window had been blacked out during WW2 and required weeks of work to remove the thick black paint prior to being rebuilt.
Working closely with a team of high access specialists we overcame the very real challenge of accessing the windows 80 ft up from an internal light well, after navigating the 100 oversized panels through McEwan Hall’s narrow spiral staircases.
McEwan Hall was of great satisfaction due to it being the first project that Felicity, Sax & Christian worked on together.
